Harlequin inspiration moodboard -hacienda

IMG_0143

There’s no better way of starting the day but enjoying a good coffee and pulling out all the fabrics and catalogues, thinking: hmmm what inspires me and what kind of mood board I will create today?! And this is what I came up with – an invigorating, homely and organic style. It’s so me and it reflects how I feel now on a sunny day in London, dreaming of leaving in a hacienda with a swimming pool and a greenhouse which I can convert into a studio. Probably the desire and need for a seaside holiday is reflected in everything I do and think of. Soon!!

The images were taken from Anthropology and Harlequin catalogue, the fabric from Zimmer+Rohde  and the wallpaper from Nobilis Paris.

Graham&Green inspiration – moodboard 2

IMG_0072

I created this moodboard inspired from  Graham & Green images. Soft palette, amazing textures and sophisticated accents…just perfect. The eye-catcher in this space is the desk lamp which is just stunning and the balanced combination of the old wood, stone, fur and antique metal textures . The secret to use so any textures in one room is to keep them in the same tone..otherwise you risk to create a restless atmosphere.

Hope you like it and get some inspiration out of it.

Graham and Green inspiration for spring 2016 moodboard

IMG_0068

From Zara to Living Etc. magazine and the majority of wallpaper&fabrics brands have introduced yellow in their collections…and I’m so happy!!! This colours it’s so summery, full of optimism and bold. It reminds me of my old flat in Romania which had one of the living room wall painted mustard. It’s such a versatile colour – you can  make your room look joyful and colourful or using it on small surfaces and in pale tones, it can bring a fresh and calm atmosphere to the room. I created this moodboard for those of you who are looking for an cosy and chic atmosphere for their house. The image is taken from Graham & Green catalogue which I really like. I can see this house near the sea or a lake…although, to be honest I won’t mind having this desk in London so it will make me forget about the weather outside. Thanks for reading!

Back to nature-2016 new trends in fabrics and wallpaper

Having the chance to go to the Chelsea Design Center Festival gave me the opportunity to discover the new releases and keep up with the new trends. We all know that 2015 was all about geometry….well, this year all the designers “brought to life” their collections playing with animal and floral prints. You might have the feeling you are standing in the middle of a flower field or getting lost in a forest. Sanderson, Morric & Co, Harlequin and Zoffany’s collections are so alive and colorful..I just love them. I have to admit that too many patterns are not for me – not to live in a room with too much going on – but some of the fabrics are  to-die-for. I specially adore the daybed from Sanderson  . Whats your favorite?

Wallpaper choice of the day- Arte International

arte1

One of the reasons to leave in London is that you have where to choose from when it comes to decorating your space, furniture stores, home accessories, design fairs… and PUBs of course.. hehehe…because after so much craziness of running from a place to another, you definitely need a good drink. Thanks God we have internet and we have blogs to make our life easier. So, if you are looking for a really special wallpaper, I suggest ARTE International . Their collections are so elegant and vibrant. Somehow, the textures remind me of gem stones or natural textures. The ones that captured my attention were The Alchemy and Mirage  collection. You just can’t go wrong with any of your choices.

I also encourage you to pay a visit to their showroom. It’s just stunning! I could easily take it as a place you can leave there. You will find more selections of wallpaper and you are in good hands when it comes to services and interior design consultation. Go for it, what are you waiting for?!

Styling moodboards – textures and surfaces

I was trying to find some images in my folders, when I came across this moodboards I put together in my first month at Wallpaper* . I remember how excited I was when I opened the cupboards where the Interiors Department kept all the samples. I was like a child on X-mas day. But let me tell you something: when you have so many to choose from it can be so overwhelming, that you hardly can concentrate on remembering what you had in mind to do in the first place. I started by mixing lots of textures, fabrics and basically everything that I liked the most – the result was obviously the first image… and then I tried to narrow the selection and keep only those that could be a perfect fit for a interior project of a cafe or store. I had to come to the office very early in the morning and work on one of the conference desks which was close to a big window so I can have enough light. With the timing and conditions, I’m very pleased of the result.

Hope you like them.

Under £1000 budget bedroom- shop online in London

rent room proj price

For those of you who are planning to redecorate or you are starting from scratch a bedroom which needs to look good on a modest budget, I came up with some suggestions of products you might be like. They can be order online (if you are too busy) or found in stores (if you like shopping and you have time to lose yourself in affordable stores) . This particular project was made for a client with whom I work at the moment to decorate his new flat in London. The room had to be suitable for a young professional either man or woman- it has to be rent it… also the room it’s pretty small so we wanted to create space, but in the same time has to be very stylish on a budget as low as possible. There are plenty of products much cheaper, but we wanted to spend extra money on quality accessories.

Stores: Ikea, WestElm , John Lewis , NOTHS , Made and Society6 ( which can be order only online).

The total cost its £ 890 but we should add the: paint, curtain pole, an extra rug for both sides of the bed and some vases or a mirror.

Hope you find it inspiring and if you need any help in decorating I’m happy to help you.

Have a wonderful day.

Delicate & Desirable Interiors – Moodboards

The weather has changed drastically overnight and the hot and sunny days are left behind ..and let’s admit it: already miss that, don’t we?!. I don’t want to get in a dramatic atmosphere but we must prepare ourselves for dark days with gray sky and lots of layers of clothes. Although, there’s a specific beauty to it, I guess that no one wants to bring that  in their house also. So, my proposal would be: how can you bring the summer back and enjoy it everyday? And I’m not talking about travelling to this hot destinations… who can do that all the time and afford it? Not my readers anyway….. therefor, my choice was manly white and beige shades, natural textures and pattern, using light tone wood and glass accessories, adding yellow and green accents. Fantastic!!!

London designers guide – Designers Guild Store & Project

moodboard

It gives me a great pleasure to introduce you to one of my favorite designers – Tricia Guild, the founder of Designers Guild . Since I arrived to London I wanted to visit one of her showrooms and stores, and yesterday was that day. I had to dedicate a full article to her and put together a styling project.. and I’m so happy with my pics. Let me tell you something: with Guild designs, you can never go wrong. The collections are full of life, joyful and the patterns will create an exotic atmosphere… as if you were in the most luxuriant bungalow in Laos or India.

First image it’s a moodboard created with: fabrics, catalogs, wallpaper and different objects collected yesterday from the store; followed below by 2 images of the windows. BTW, I was almost hit by a car as I had to stay in the middle of the street to take the shoot …hihi .. if you wonder why I had to do that?! it’s because I have a fix lens.

Next, is my styling project created before I went to see the place. The center peace is Tricia Guild’s new book which I simply adore. You just can’t stop browsing it.

And here we are showing you how the store looks like. I was so glad that they allowed me to take pictures. There are a lot of things going on, so it was very hard to take simple shoots and create a light atmosphere, but in the end I manage to get few quite good ones…I may say.
