Industrial&Modern kitchen solution

Kitchen moodboard

All the houses I leaved in, and there are few now, they all had a bright kitchen with the working area near the window. Therefore, every time I have to design a new space I think, first of all, if there’s enough light and airy surfaces. I love open shelves which are practical and fun – you can add so much flair to the space by mismatching pottery and kitchen accessories; I love to see herbs in pots; I love the texture of the wood – I couldn’t never see myself working in a kitchen where there’s no wood whatsoever ( although I like it to be in small amounts) …and I definitely love tiles.

This moodboard was made for a potential kitchen of a client – unfortunately the new property came with a kitchen already, so we couldn’t go with this projects, although he was so thrilled of the project. From the beginning he wanted something industrial but cosy with black cabinets and white tiles. Because the kitchen was near to a water canal, I wanted to add accents of natural textures and linen fabrics so it will feel a bit summery – taking in consideration the grim London weather.

I had to leave the space as simple as possible so it will stick to the budget, but if I have to play a bit more with my imagination I could add  just a bit of colour to the scheme and some graphic accents: some Moroccan tiles or illustrations on the wall , some playful Mexican or Asian plates and mugs… and i will have to stop now otherwise I’ll risk having a creating atmosphere.

Hope you like the project and find it inspiring for your own kitchen.

Have a sunny day.

Under £1000 budget bedroom- shop online in London

rent room proj price

For those of you who are planning to redecorate or you are starting from scratch a bedroom which needs to look good on a modest budget, I came up with some suggestions of products you might be like. They can be order online (if you are too busy) or found in stores (if you like shopping and you have time to lose yourself in affordable stores) . This particular project was made for a client with whom I work at the moment to decorate his new flat in London. The room had to be suitable for a young professional either man or woman- it has to be rent it… also the room it’s pretty small so we wanted to create space, but in the same time has to be very stylish on a budget as low as possible. There are plenty of products much cheaper, but we wanted to spend extra money on quality accessories.

Stores: Ikea, WestElm , John Lewis , NOTHS , Made and Society6 ( which can be order only online).

The total cost its £ 890 but we should add the: paint, curtain pole, an extra rug for both sides of the bed and some vases or a mirror.

Hope you find it inspiring and if you need any help in decorating I’m happy to help you.

Have a wonderful day.

London designers guide – Designers Guild Store & Project

moodboard

It gives me a great pleasure to introduce you to one of my favorite designers – Tricia Guild, the founder of Designers Guild . Since I arrived to London I wanted to visit one of her showrooms and stores, and yesterday was that day. I had to dedicate a full article to her and put together a styling project.. and I’m so happy with my pics. Let me tell you something: with Guild designs, you can never go wrong. The collections are full of life, joyful and the patterns will create an exotic atmosphere… as if you were in the most luxuriant bungalow in Laos or India.

First image it’s a moodboard created with: fabrics, catalogs, wallpaper and different objects collected yesterday from the store; followed below by 2 images of the windows. BTW, I was almost hit by a car as I had to stay in the middle of the street to take the shoot …hihi .. if you wonder why I had to do that?! it’s because I have a fix lens.

Next, is my styling project created before I went to see the place. The center peace is Tricia Guild’s new book which I simply adore. You just can’t stop browsing it.

And here we are showing you how the store looks like. I was so glad that they allowed me to take pictures. There are a lot of things going on, so it was very hard to take simple shoots and create a light atmosphere, but in the end I manage to get few quite good ones…I may say.

Inside a man’s world and manly interior project

men's projI have to admit that it was a pleasure to let my imagination run “wild” for this project. I introduce you to my own vision of how a real man style should be (and I’m not saying that I like the hairy ones because of the bear in the image hahaha ). Obviously, we are all attracted by their look but more than this, in my opinion, nothing can be sexier than his interest and smartness. I would like to walk in a man’s house and see: originality, creativity, masculinity and to reflect his personality. There are so many home and men’s accessories which can be used in order to have a masculine interior design: leather, dark colours, metal, concrete and wood.  A massive book shelves, vintage accessories and some b&w photos will always add a bit of extra flair to your space.

Mexican Kitchen Ceramic – styling project

ceramic1

The whole week I had in mind to come up with a interior styling project. But I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do exactly. So, what to do in this case? I drove to the Home Sense store, my source of inspiration and from where I can get the products I want, and I a look around hunting for something fun, colorful and inspiring. I was super excited when I found this amazing handmade ceramic pottery from Las Amos – Mexican Kitchen. It was my perfect find as I just spent a weekend with a Colombian family which I adore. We had Latino music and traditional food. It felt like I was back in time when I visited Mexico. Therefore, this beautiful items remind me of the ceramic markets full of colour and Mexican embroidery. It was so much fun to have a play with them and considering the fact that I used only natural light and my camera was a old iPhone5 , I’m pretty pleased of my results.

Bohemian style decor inspiration

Take a look and tell us if you can see yourself lounging about in one of these beautiful schemes. Is it the bohemian style that you’re aspiring for? If so, then this will be a good article that you might get a few ideas from. Yes, it might be too feminine or too colourful for some, but I bet you can steal a few decorative ideas and implement them in your own setting. It’s a style not focused on perfection, far from it, as a matter of fact it focuses on the use of unconventional arrangements, imperfections and at the first glance is quite chaotic , then in the end it creates a bold and carefree design. The floral patterns and the artwork are key elements which  can be used as accents or a center theme. Inspired by gypsy culture this trend is suitable for those whose spirit will always be young, joyful, wild and free…and isn’t it probably what we are all aspiring to have?!

So, here we go again..Monday !!! A new week, same routine, 5 days of hard work….boring. BTW:  How was your weekend? Let me tell you: mine, it’s was so good that I’m still thinking about it. It’s been a while since I went up in the mountain, hiking and enjoying the fresh air, the landscape , the silence and the wildness. I was so happy up there, so full of hope, relaxed and everything was so peaceful, that’s way I had to post an article which will reflect that state of mind. I’m developing a deeper appreciation for natural materials and I am more and more drawn in combining natural textures and fabrics. Here are my selections.

Normann Copenhagen Minimalism Interior Styling

normannAs promised, I had a play with Normann’s products and let me tell you something, it wasn’t easy at all. It looks very simple and you might think that I might have done it in few minutes but far from the truth. I just realised how difficult it is for me to create minimalist designs. My interior solutions are always pretty packed with a wide range of objects and styles. So, it wasn’t a easy task not refrain myself. My intention from the beginning was to keep the same colour and composition scheme; I think I made it.

Hope you like it.

Have a easy day.

NC-Furniture-Catalogue-2014-(19).ashx

“We Believe In Great Design” – a real statement which can be found in each of the products shown in Normann Copehagen’s gallery. I love their simple and minimalist lines and the colour palette which gives you that feeling of calmness and neatness. This Danish design company collection consists of a wide range of  furniture, sculptural lighting, stunning textiles and home accessories. It caught my eye in a second and I’m looking forward to insert some of their creations in my next project. Hope you find them as extraordinary as I do and visit my blog soon to check my new posts.
