Industrial&Modern kitchen solution

Kitchen moodboard

All the houses I leaved in, and there are few now, they all had a bright kitchen with the working area near the window. Therefore, every time I have to design a new space I think, first of all, if there’s enough light and airy surfaces. I love open shelves which are practical and fun – you can add so much flair to the space by mismatching pottery and kitchen accessories; I love to see herbs in pots; I love the texture of the wood – I couldn’t never see myself working in a kitchen where there’s no wood whatsoever ( although I like it to be in small amounts) …and I definitely love tiles.

This moodboard was made for a potential kitchen of a client – unfortunately the new property came with a kitchen already, so we couldn’t go with this projects, although he was so thrilled of the project. From the beginning he wanted something industrial but cosy with black cabinets and white tiles. Because the kitchen was near to a water canal, I wanted to add accents of natural textures and linen fabrics so it will feel a bit summery – taking in consideration the grim London weather.

I had to leave the space as simple as possible so it will stick to the budget, but if I have to play a bit more with my imagination I could add  just a bit of colour to the scheme and some graphic accents: some Moroccan tiles or illustrations on the wall , some playful Mexican or Asian plates and mugs… and i will have to stop now otherwise I’ll risk having a creating atmosphere.

Hope you like the project and find it inspiring for your own kitchen.

Have a sunny day.

Lifestyle styling for Wallpaper* magazine

product styling1

Today, I decided to share with you some of my little styling projects I’ve done for Wallpaper* magazine. I’m quite content with the results taking in the consideration that we had: limited time, just a small studio with the basic equipment and some background paper. Charlotte Crowston was the photographer assistant and we both pulled out from nowhere materials to work with. I still have a lot to learn and I know that I can do better, but I do recon that I should be proud and  share with you my first results and , maybe if you follow me, you can be the witness of my evolution. Ohh, there’s so much desire to work and become better!

London designers guide – Designers Guild Store & Project

moodboard

It gives me a great pleasure to introduce you to one of my favorite designers – Tricia Guild, the founder of Designers Guild . Since I arrived to London I wanted to visit one of her showrooms and stores, and yesterday was that day. I had to dedicate a full article to her and put together a styling project.. and I’m so happy with my pics. Let me tell you something: with Guild designs, you can never go wrong. The collections are full of life, joyful and the patterns will create an exotic atmosphere… as if you were in the most luxuriant bungalow in Laos or India.

First image it’s a moodboard created with: fabrics, catalogs, wallpaper and different objects collected yesterday from the store; followed below by 2 images of the windows. BTW, I was almost hit by a car as I had to stay in the middle of the street to take the shoot …hihi .. if you wonder why I had to do that?! it’s because I have a fix lens.

Next, is my styling project created before I went to see the place. The center peace is Tricia Guild’s new book which I simply adore. You just can’t stop browsing it.

And here we are showing you how the store looks like. I was so glad that they allowed me to take pictures. There are a lot of things going on, so it was very hard to take simple shoots and create a light atmosphere, but in the end I manage to get few quite good ones…I may say.

Inside a man’s world and manly interior project

men's projI have to admit that it was a pleasure to let my imagination run “wild” for this project. I introduce you to my own vision of how a real man style should be (and I’m not saying that I like the hairy ones because of the bear in the image hahaha ). Obviously, we are all attracted by their look but more than this, in my opinion, nothing can be sexier than his interest and smartness. I would like to walk in a man’s house and see: originality, creativity, masculinity and to reflect his personality. There are so many home and men’s accessories which can be used in order to have a masculine interior design: leather, dark colours, metal, concrete and wood.  A massive book shelves, vintage accessories and some b&w photos will always add a bit of extra flair to your space.

Mediterranean & Scandinavian styles combination

airySummer it’s almost here and although I love spring, I can’t think of how much I miss the sea and the sun.  I yearn for few days somewhere near the ocean/sea, to feel the sand beneath my feet and lie on a soft white cotton sunbed. Because, again I have other plans more important than affording ( as time)  a holiday, I thought to come up with a design solution which will bring that feeling alive no matter where you live. I didn’t want to overly use the maritime theme and because the most relaxing moments are brought by light shades and airy spaces, I thought that I should combine the Scandinavian style with a touch of Mediterranean influence. White, cream , grey and accents of black and blue is what you need. Use cotton and translucent fabrics and do not forget the plants to give you that impact of an exotic scene.

Accessories : 1. Lantern from Think Fabricate  2. Sofa from Invaluable    3. Curtains from Urbanoutfitters  4.  Fragrances from Urbanoutfitters  5. Twin Tables from TwentyTwentyone  6.  Rug by The Rug Company  7. Octopus Print from Bashla website  8. Prin by Mirella Bruno   9. Cabinet by Hierve  10. Wall clocks from Anthropologie 11. Chair by Japanese designer Jin Kuramoto found on Dezeen  12. Plant pot by Atelier Stella

Hope you’ve been inspired and you like my work.

Essencial Home Accessories – Fragrances – Scented Candle

IMG_2483 We always talk about how a house should look like, what style we like, what colours we have to choose and what objects should fit. But, we forget that a real designer should take in consideration of all the 4 senses (the 5th 0 Taste -can’t be included)when she/he will decorate the space.

Scientists agree that smell and memory have a special relationship. People can often recall aromas from childhood or a distinctive odor they’ve only smelled once. Whatever the preferences, smells do enhance comfort and happiness.

I can’t imagine a house without candles or any type of fragrances – and I have to be very careful of my choose as I get very easily headache. Do you have any flavore or brand you like?
One of the reasons I love UK is because of TK-Maxx and Home Sense stores. You will find this amazing home accessories with very good prices. One of my favorite brand when it comes to Candles is Makers of Was Goods . Oh, if I could only find words to describe how fine and delicate they smell and they have this super interesting combinations of fragrances: Oudwood and Moss , Lather and Amber , Tabacco and Suede etc. Their brand and packaging is stunning ..it’s just that I was super surprised I couldn’t find any website. They don’t have one. How is that possible?

Anyway, I recommend that, if you are from UK and you have a Tk-Maxx close to you or if you want to buy them online, do not hesitate. You won’t regret it.

IMG_2485IMG_2484I had a bit of play with the products and I’m pleased about the pictures I took today, taking in to consideration I used my iphone.

Hope you like my article and till next one: have a wonderful day.

April’s Project – UK studio flat

bed1

I’m thrilled to finally show you some of my latest work. Although its not finished I wanted to show you some of my process.

The project was born when I first moved to the UK. I rented this amazing room ( it might sound cheesy, but I had this vision of the room I would like to have when I would move to the UK – and I was so shocked when I first saw it..it was so similar)..anyway… I decorated it as much as my budget allowed me to, considering the fact that I won’t spend my whole life here. Many times I was wondering: what if I have had an unlimited budget? What will I do with it?

And this is how all started… I created my own world. With a lot of paintings, enough storage and my little corner to relax and read. There’s only one part of the space I didn’t create – the desk wall. I might leave it for later or my thought is to draw it by hand. I’m a huge fan of Anthropologie and M&S, so most of the items are from these two stores. I see myself in a house which is a combination between a gallery, a studio and a place to leave. And I think that you can sense that in my project.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do and looking forward to showing you more projects in the close future.
